Dental Implants

Dental implants are a preferred substitute for an individual’s missing natural tooth. Once a tooth is missing, it may alter the position of an individuals remaining teeth and affect their overall chewing function. Dental implants are prosthetic replacements for missing teeth. An implant is anchored in the bone beneath the gums where it becomes fused with the jaw. A crown is then placed on top of the implant which restores the proper chewing function of the mouth. Dental implants may be used to replace a single missing/damaged tooth or to restore an entire smile. Implant dentistry is usually a beneficial option for any individual with good overall health. The implant is placed during a simple and quick surgical procedure while the patient is under local anesthetic. Once the treatment is completed the patient attains proper function of their mouth while obtaining natural looking teeth.
